Call for patent disclosure:

- No one declared a patent.

-----
Opens:

Todd: Will report on status testing toolkit interoperability

Arpad asked where we stand on the true diff BIRD
- Randy and Walter need to meet on this
- The Tvac keyword is figured out
- Still in "off-line" phase

David had some trouble with LiveMeeting
- Arpad said that switching to WebX is a possibility

-------------
Review of ARs:

- David Banas report Xilinx position on LTI assumption for SerDes
  - David pinged others recently but nothing to report yet

- AMI BIRD authors meet to prove AMI BIRD can handle Mellitz cases
  - Todd: we need real part data
  - We decided to leave this AR on the list.

- Walter coordinate completion of true diff BIRD draft
  - In progress

- Michael M. draft Eye keywords for true diff BIRD
  - In progress

- Randy draft derating keywords for true diff BIRD
  - Randy and Walter need to meet on this
  - The Tvac keyword is figured out
  - Still in "off-line" phase

- Arpad: Write parameter passing syntax proposal (BIRD draft)
for *-AMS models in IBIS that is consistent with the
parameter passing syntax of the AMI models
  - TBD

- TBD: Propose a parameter passing syntax for the SPICE
  - [External ...] also?
  - TBD

- Arpad: Review the documentation (annotation) in the macro libraries.
  - Deferred until a demand arises or we have nothing else to do

-------------
New Discussion:

Toolkit interoperability testing
- Todd has been testing models in both SiSoft and Cadence AMI toolkits
- Can get waveforms to nearly overlay
- Some confusion about behavioral differences between tools
  - Hard to figure out how to compare inputs and outputs of each tool
- Terry can help

Walter presented slides on "Electronic Module Description"
- Existing formats are EBD and ICM
- IP issues impair delivery of full layout descriptions
- We need "corner models" to cover the range of modules that might be
  plugged in (DIMMs, etc.)
- EMD = Electronic Module Description
- Using "Pad" to refer to component pins
- Addresses power delivery structures
- Extended Nets connect nets through series resistors
- New language would be translated to target simulator languages
- Similar structure: subckts, etc.
- Arpad: Michael Mirmak's SPICE proposal seems similar
- S-param and impulse response are somewhat interchangeable
- David: suggest adding the G element (simple conductance)
- Mike L: suggest adding the K element (mutual inductance)
- Randy: suggest adding controlled sources (can model many things)
- Arpad: why are these grouped into levels?
  - Walter: tools lacking some elements can declare their capabilities
- Arpad: this syntax will have to be defined in more detail
  - Is the [External Model] the same as IBIS?
  - Walter: this is different
  - Bob: it would help to use a different keyword
- Bob: would this be a separate standard
  - Walter: it should be independent of IBIS and EBD
- Arpad: This might replace the Michael M. IBIS-ICM effort

Next meeting: 11 Mar 2007 12:00pm PT
